Meet File A Complaint!!

Meet the Band:

Craig Green (@cmackg almost anywhere), has been playing and making music for a very long time. He put FAC together with the intention of singing songs that feel forbidden in an era of safe pop, tame bands and no-edge rock. He's usually seen holding a bass behind a microphone, and puts his spare time in to drum machines and synthesizers. Ask him about boats.

Abby McNaughton is FAC's lead singer. She brings massive energy to the stage and is guaranteed to raise the roof. A FACCer with many interests, Abby is building her songwriting chops while working to help DC's unhoused residents. We're all envious of the life Abby leads, living the dream in DC.

Cliff Bussie is a many of many talents and missions. He's building his own brand around @CliffordCartel - check him out. He plays keys for FAC, and lends a mighty hand to our vocal efforts. Cliff brings a creative approach to our songlist, and shares a desire to give our music a unique sound.

Nate Condie is a drummer and music historian. We all met through FlashBand DC (Check them out, seriously), and Nate now owns the leader-board for most Flashbands played. Craig was a close second. Nate's been in more bands than any any human has the right. I'll let him fact-check me on rockers with many bands.

Justin Kuhl -- I mean, look at that picture! He's all sorts of that, and a great hang. A punk-shredder with a heart of gold, he's got an eyeglass collection that kills. He brings an edge to the band that keeps from dissolving into a mush of Kumbaya. Also, dude has a very broad range of musical interests.  I mean, he's Mr. Kuhl.

Let me tell you a story.....

Every band has a reason for being. File A Complaint started with a dream that came from frustration. Craig was in a few bands over the years, played his share of bar gigs, etc. A band broke up, COVID hit, and in his spare time he dreamed up a "Protest Funk Folk Band." Songs with an edge don't get much airtime, and yet they make up so much of the myth of rock and roll. Heck, the entire 50's was chock full of angry communist folkies playing major stages. If no one wants to pay any band anything anymore, why not put a band together to play what we want? Why not work to help the folks that are trying to make a change in our world? Musicians spend a lot of time on a craft, we should apply those skills to help improve our world.
